The Technology Council of Northwest PA leads the development, use and growth of technology in northwest PA. The Council consists of companies, universities and agencies on the cutting edge of technology development, focused on keeping the knowledge workforce abreast of emerging technology and creating an environment that fosters innovation and retention of the knowledge worker. From applied research to peer networks, the Council has peer networks for technology professionals, aggregates demand for purchasing, links talent with employer and advocates for a business environment favorable to the spread of technology in PA.

The NWIRC is a private, non-profit 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to meeting the needs of manufacturing enterprises in Northwest Pennsylvania. Created in 1988, NWIRC is part of a statewide network of seven Industrial Resource Centers. NWIRC is supported by Pennsylvania's Department of Community and Economic Development and the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The AHEC (Area Health Education Centers) program was developed by Congress in 1971 to recruit, train and retain a health professions workforce committed to underserved populations. The mission of AHEC is to enhance access to quality health care, particularly primary and preventive care, by improving the supply and distribution of health care professionals through community/academic educational partnerships

The Nonprofit Leadership Institute (NLI) is a premier resource center for nonprofit boards. Founded in 1996 at the request of southwestern Pennsylvania's foundation community, the NLI is generously supported by Duquesne University, by grants from local foundations, and by registration fees from program participants. It operates within the University's School of Leadership and Professional Advancement.
